PORTLAND, OR - For someone who has been called the "Pope of Trash," it actually makes perfect sense that people just can't get enough of Mr John Waters once they get to know his public persona. This charming man continues his filthy assault on the public with this interview on Maryland Public Television.
Promoting his new exhibition entitled, appropriately enough, 'Indecent Exposure' at the Baltimore Museum of Art, it's a fun interview and brief glimpse through the exhibition itself. That glimpse is most welcome for people who decided to move to the west coast before this opened, but I digress. As is pointed out, Waters is most famously known for his work in cinema, from the DIY days of 'Multiple Maniacs,' to the his more slicker and popular works including 'Hairspray' and 'Cry-Baby.' His increase in popularity over recent decades has brought greater interest to his offbeat and refreshing outlook on all aspects of society via his fantastic books 'Shock Value' and 'Crackpot,' and more recently 'Role Models,' and 'Carsick.' In the interview Waters discusses his upcoming book 'Mr. Know-It-All,' set for release on June 4, 2019, which sounds like it could be his best yet as he covers the topics of the day.
