My goodness, I don’t think I’ve gone to one of these things since 2006. Actually, I did try to get into the Barack Obama 2008 primary rally in Boston when Ted Kennedy endorsed him, waiting outside with friends on a freezing, snowy February work night for 3 hours before giving up and deciding to leave. Luckily today was a bit nicer out, it being an almost perfect fall day on the last day of summer. I almost didn’t go because I’m a world-renowned procrastinator (well, sort of), but I’m glad I did as I got up nice and close and got to shake Ms. Warren’s hand and thank her for running. I am not the biggest fan of Mayor Menino for various reason (probably unfair, I admit), but I liked what he had to say in his endorsement …
“Like many voters, I wanted to get to know Elizabeth Warren. You know how I made up my mind about this election? I thought to myself. What if I wasn’t the mayor. What if I was just a guy from Hyde Park who had a job with the city. Whose wife was an accountant and worried about their retirement savings. What if I was any guy who wondered how his two kids would send his six grandkids to college. And whether they would have good jobs on the other end. If I wasn’t the mayor, who would speak up in Washington on my behalf? I thought to myself, if I was any guy from Hyde Park, Elizabeth would have my back, and so I have hers.” – Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, September 21, 2012
As a fellow Hyde Park resident and neighbor (he lives just a couple blocks away from Ghostlife headquarters – HA!), I concur.
Anyway, enough blabbering (mumbling, in this case, I guess), click on the below image for the pictures. There are some good ones, at least comparatively.
