PORTLAND, OR - As much as my musical tastes continue to expand, relatively speaking, my general musical bubble continues to stay intact, and this applies to my small world of interviews as well. And really, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I was incredibly lucky to have been taken seriously at all by one of my top five favorite bands when I interviewed Lush in 2014. Five years on and one door leads to another, both for myself in having a few of these under my belt, and for Miki who is now fronting a new project, Piroshka, with members of Modern English, Moose and Elastica. It's quite different to all of their former bands, but also familiar at the same time, which for me is why their debut album is such a refreshing listen. Just as refreshing is talking with Miki, and of course her fellow bandmates.
